Enjoiyng this a lot!
Very good service
I took me Couple weeks of flying over apartment plus simulators to learn how not to crash in second and cruise for a minute.
there is slight minus, motors are trying to slide out from holders, so be prepared, to fix it after every crash :) hope that will be improved in future designs.
Thank you BETAFPV <3
I am an amateur pilot who just got this as my first FPV drone.
I ordered the drone and it arrived in about 1 week. The drone is well-packaged, and it comes in a very nice, hard carry case. The batteries for the drone (2 are included) last about 4-8 min each. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. It all depends on what mode you're in and what type of flying you're doing. They also take about 30 - 40 min to charge them. (both at the same time) The controller and headset (goggles) both last about maybe 10 flying sessions. (each session is about 10-15 min)
The Drone is great for indoors. It is small, compact, and can take a hit. (and it won't damage your walls) You can go into some rooms and sometimes even go downstairs or upstairs. The controller can be plugged into a PC or computer so that you can play a drone simulator. The headset is very easy to connect to the drone. The drone is very easy to fly in normal mode, and the sport mode and manual mode are more difficult. This makes the drone a good beginner drone to start with.
The Drone is not good for the outdoors. It is possible to fly it around a few trees close to the ground, but when I tried to fly it off my deck, (it wasn't windy at all) it was pushed up. it was way above any trees and I almost lost connection to it. I kept trying to bring it down to the ground, but it was just hovering. (I eventually did bring it down.) Sometimes when flying the drone indoors, the headset video will static out for a sec. Sometimes hair does get stuck in the props but it is easy to pop them off and clean them out. (the set comes with a metal prop tool remover.)
After I received the drone and got to fly it a few times, the battery charger/adapter/tester stopped working. it would not charge the batteries and it wouldn't show the voltage either. I did email BetaFPV and they got back to me. After about a week I had a new charger for free. (and it works perfectly fine)
The Drone is great for beginners that are just getting into the FPV hobby. If you have a good indoor area to fly it in, that's great! But if you don't, and you can only fly outdoor drones, don't buy this one. I also suggest getting an extra set of batteries so that your flying sessions are longer. I haven't yet, but I might get some more. For the Price of the drone ($160), it is ok. There are some features that need to be improved. If you have extra money, maybe think about getting the Pro version. ($230) you might think the turtle mode is unnecessary, but it might actually be helpful. (It is a pain having to get up every time you crash the drone to flip it over.)
Hopefully this is helpful!
I ordered this drone to get an entry-level product into the hobby. For its price, this drone is a great starter drone that works right out of the box, and for those reasons, this kit is great for beginners. However, I have a little more experience than most beginners, and because of this, I was hoping to get some control over the drone settings which leads us to the first issue, the transmitter. This kit ships with the literadio 2SE in what appears to be mode 2 ONLY. I noticed this too late and because I am tech-savvy and did not want to cancel my order, I decided to simply wait and see if I can swap the gimbals around and call it a day. The gimbals were easy to swap around and re-install, but that was the end of the easy part. As far as I am concerned, there is NO way to change the firmware on both the transmitter and drone that will allow you to fly this kit in mode 1 (or as BetaFPV calls it, American mode). I used the configurator, OpenTX companion, and the forums to try and flash mode 1 (Japan mode) to my transmitter. And for a second, I had thought I'd done it. The throttle, pitch, yaw, and roll were all working how I wanted in the configurator and I was super excited to get flying, until I ran into my second issue, the drone. Even though I had painstakingly switched the transmitter mode, the drone itself was still registering the inputs from my transmitter as mode 2 and there is nothing I can do to change it. I tried different firmware and everything I could think of/find to try and get the drone to register the transmitter signals the way I want to no avail. And now I can't even fly the drone in normal mode without it yaw/rolling to the right, so it is now unusable as far as I am concerned. All I can do now is write this review and use my transmitter with a simulator. This kit is really great to get someone started with FPV drone flying, but once you start to want some customizability, you might run yourself out of luck fairly quickly. I'm giving it two stars because this is not a one-star product, but no option to select which mode(Japan/American) transmitter you receive on the kit's store page (BetaFPV allows you to select what mode you want on the literadio2SE's store page), the lack of documentation, and difficulty to even find out how to MAYBE change these settings are what make this a two-star product for me.
Thank you for posting such real and good review. Your experience is very important to us. BETAFPV is very concerned about customers' feelings about the products. We will improve and make it better in the future.
